Overview

Un petit requin-chien inoffensif commun dans l'Atlantique est et la Méditerranée. Se nourrit de crustacés et de petits poissons dans les habitats côtiers sableux et vaseux. Souvent capturé en tant que prise accessoire.

Habitat

Ces requins résident sur les plateaux continentaux et les pentes supérieures, généralement entre 5 à 50 m de profondeur, mais on les trouve souvent dans les zones de marée jusqu'à au moins 350 m.

Distribution

Northeast Atlantic & Mediterranean

Ils préfèrent l'Atlantique est tempéré, du Royaume-Uni à la Méditerranée, au Maroc, aux Canaries et possiblement aux Açores et à Madère. On les trouve également en Angola jusqu'en Afrique du Sud, y compris la côte de l'océan Indien.

Behavior

Ils préfèrent nager près du fond, mais peuvent parfois se trouver en eau libre.
